Campus Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are the heartbeat of Belle Ame Campus. They immerse young adults in campus life, providing the most extended opportunity to learn, gain skills, volunteer, and be an ongoing member of the campus community. Apprentices learn and develop as they help maintain, improve, and construct campus grounds, infrastructure, and programs.
Apprentices live on campus for one to four months, together with other young adults from Belle Ame member families, and become a consistent part of the campus community. Much of their time is spent working on campus grounds and facilities, while also contributing in any unique area of interest of skill they may have. In between, they join in other campus experiences such as Morning Song, Forum, shared meals, and guest programs.

Previous participation in a multi-day Belle Ame program (as a youth or young adult). If you have not participated in the past, look under Campus Events in the Belle Ame Community for opportunities.

Cost
Tuition is free. Apprentices are responsible for travel to and from Campus. Meals and housing are included.
Dates
Apprenticeships last 1-4 months. The duration and dates of each apprenticeship are arranged individually.

Campus Life
Housing
Apprentices stay in campus housing. Young men and young women have separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Meals are taken together, and with the campus host family. Apprentices share a kitchen, dining room, and living room on the main floor with the host family, and have a non-shared common room apart in the walk-out basement.
Schedule
Each weekday begins with breakfast at 8:00, followed by morning song at 9:00 and group groundskeeping at 9:30. Lunch is at 12:30, and dinner at 5:30. The rest morning and afternoon blocks are devoted to campus improvement projects. Evenings are for gathering, dancing, reading, etc. Weekends are generally free. Transportation is available for worship services on Sunday.
Artful Living
We engage regularly in the arts. Together we read and discuss books, sing, memorize poetry, draw, cook, watch films, play music, folk dance, and much more.

Standards Committment
All participants in campus programs must agree to wholeheartedly uphold the Campus Standards Commitment. Apprentices, who spend most or all of the season on campus and form part of the core campus staff, must be especially committed and willing to go above and beyond in upholding these standards.
